Updates everywhere where Blogs and Social Networks are concerned :)

Blogs and Social Networks Updates!
We wanted to list some of the coolest of updates on the best of Blogs and Social Networks and Internet related sites! Tonights show is going to go into detail on all the updates at our favorite Blogs and Social Networks sites and some other related networking sites :)
Listen into BlogsAndSocialNetworks.info our Updates Show or follow some of the links below:
First is Google :) GMail to be precise! Find out what has been keeping the GMail team busy by following this link:
http://mail.google.com/mail/help/about_whatsnew.html
To access the "what's new" at GMail Labs click the "Labs Tab" in the GMail settings while logged into your GMail account :)
This little blurb is found at the top and I thought it important to print it here as well:
"Gmail Labs: Some crazy experimental stuff."
"Gmail Labs is a testing ground for experimental features that aren't quite ready for primetime. They may change, break or disappear at any time.
If (when) a Labs feature breaks, and you're having trouble loading your inbox, there's an escape hatch. Use http://mail.google.com/mail/?labs=0" Just in case anyone needed it :)
Buttons to Enable or Disable are listed right next to the desired new features (last check there was 42 current lab choices at GMail Labs).
Stevie uncovered the newness at MySpace as she went digging for the cool new features there and we will go into that bag of goodies on the show :)
Utterli.com, a podcasting "shout out" style Blog Social Network, has some great 2009 updates! Utterli has group calling, video processing improvements, an Utterli Desktop Application for Ubuntu.com Amazon Web Services site. Check out more on the show or visit the Utterli Blog.
Trusera.com is a brilliant one of a kind Health Social network that is in need of partners. As far as we see out there on the net, there isn't anything in the way of a competitive site, so investors check this one out :)
YouTube.com has some awesome new updates like the collaborative annotations where you can invite friends to also add speech bubbles, notes, and spotlights to your videos :) Listen into the show for more or follow the link below to the YouTube Blog:

Zimbio.com is still as cool as ever! The Interactive magazine - wiki - blog and article categorizer - super site! Named as one of the fastest growing sites by Nielsen, Zimbio is rocking the net :) Check out more updates on Zimbio at the company wiki:
http://www.zimbio.com/Zimbio
The biggest updates are a pruning really of some awesome ideas that are taking up a bit more time and space and not as needed as all that at present. Great ideas need to shed to skin along the way sometimes and Zimbio has chosen well:
"2/9/09

Bookmarking Keyword Phrase Blogs and Social Networks
Friend based Social Bookmarking sites like Newsvine, MyBlogLog, Digg, and to some extent the "Sharing Factor" of Google Reader, focus on the "Social" side of bookmarking, interactivity between members :)
Technorati is in a league of its own I think when it comes to social bookmarking sites. Technorati has its own rating system to determine your blog authority. If you want to "run with the big dogs" like Tech Crunch, People, LATimes, Google, and Boing Boing, get busy at Technorati. All of the "how to", FAQs, etc is on the site. It may take longer to get acquainted with this Social Bookmarking Social Network, but if you are looking for Technorati Notoriety it is time well spent.
Sites like Delicious (and some others) run Tags or Keywords together with no spaces between the words to create a Keyword Phrase, I think this is not as effective for Keyword recognition. Searching terms, most people do not tend to run the words all together, so you may miss on visitors.
Here's a quick Keyword Tip: Camel Back your Keyword Phrase, Capitalize the first letter in each word of your 3 to 5 word Keyword Phrase. "Blogs and Social Networks", "Bookmarking Social Networks", "Social Bookmarking Sites" :)
Here is a short list of some other cool Bookmarking Type Sites we like:
Zimbio may not seem at first like a Bookmarking Site, but it will surely gain you exposure on individual blog style articles and posts. List your blog sites here at Zimbio and categorize each post into a Wiki and see the change in traffic :)
That is basically what the Social Bookmark Sites do, gain traffic to your posts and then sites in the end :)
Redditt.com
Mixx.com
Fark.com
Slashdot.com
BlinkList.com For all the web sites you want to get back to using Any computer! Something to check into for those who travel or use multiple computers :)
Bookmarking sites can be social or just for your personal link lists!
Furl.com is one for you personally as is MyBookmarks.com :)
So, there's Private Bookmarks, Groups, News Focused Sites, or the Multi Site Social Bookmarking Site like MyBlogLog.
Making up a list before you start looking for the multiple Social Bookmark Sites to find what end result you are seeking will help in your decision. Do you want a Bookmark Site for a list of saved pages so you can find them easily? or are you searching for ratings for your site? Take this list and whittle down starting with these two questions, you will quickly see which choices are best for you.
To find out even more on Social Bookmark Sites listen into our show Blogs and Social Networks Social Bookmarking or :)

"Facebook Replacing News Feeds with Real-Time Status Streams
JR Raphael, PC World
Mar 4, 2009 5:20 pm
Facebook is taking a cue from Twitter and retooling its home page to include real-time status streams with advanced options for customization. The change was announced at a media event at Facebook's Palo Alto headquarters Wednesday.
The New Home Page
The updated home page design, set to go live by the middle of next week, is anchored by the newly named Stream (previously known as the News Feed). The Facebook Stream shows your friends' activity as it occurs, with automatic refreshing built into the page. The status update box, now branded as Publisher, simply asks: "What's on your mind?" Any text, photos, or video entered into it go straight into your profile and onto your friends' home pages at the same time." READ MORE
This is a very interesting turn of events! A must read for Facebook fans :)
Check it out, quite an article, Thanks JR Raphael at PC World :)
